Development Partnerships

Datec has completed many successful initiatives with our customers in the heating, coatings and research and development partnerships. We have provided an initiative in each segment below:

Coating Case Study:
A multinational leader in the automotive industry approached Datec to develop a corrosion coating to withstand abrasion and thermal shock. Datec scientists worked closely with the client to develop a coating that would meet these criteria. The result was a coating that has excellent thermal shock and abrasion properties. The benefit to the client was the ability to replace stainless steel with carbon steel resulting in cost savings and other benefits

Heating Case Study:
A leader in the outdoor security business needed a heating source that was lightweight, low profile and adaptable to their design to provide consistent heat to a LCD screen at low temperatures. Datec developed a mica heater that was inserted behind the LCD that maintained consistent temperature to allow the LCD to perform reliably at extreme cold temperatures.

Research and Development Case Study:
A mining equipment manufacturer approached Datec to develop a corrosion resistant coating for a pump cylinder sleeve. Datec worked in partnership with the client’s engineers to develop the coating and Datec applied the coating to the cylinder. The result is a non stick wear resistant coating that significantly reduces corrosion of this component. The mining company saved significantly and enhanced its competitive position.
